Laser generation and amplification fibers

Thanks to their low phonon energy, combined to their high rare earth solubility, dozens of rare earth transitions are active in fluoride glasses. As a result, numerous lasers can be generated in visible, NIR and mid-IR.

Here are some examples of lasers that can be generated in fluoride optical fibers:
