The SIMBADE project is one of the seven initiatives selected from the French Government as part of the « 5G Acceleration Strategy and Networks of the Future » program, and will receive funding from Direction Générale des Entreprises.
The SIMBADE project aims to increase the exploitable bandwidth in DWDM transmission systems through the development of efficient fiber amplifiers.
The partners of the project are Ekinops (project leader), Orange, Le Verre Fluoré, Idil Fibres Optiques, Photonics Bretagne and University Lille 1 – PhLAM.
LVF will be in charge of the development of new fiber amplifiers for O-Band and S-band based on its fluoride doped fiber technology.
