ZBLAN ZrF4 zirconium fluoride glass fibers

ZBLAN ZrF4 zirconium fluoride glass fibers are referred to as ZBLAN fluoride glass fibers, as they are made from ZrF4, BaF2, LaF3, AlF3, NaF.

ZBLAN fluoride glass fibers are by far the most commonly used. They are the most transparent fibers in the 2000 nm-4000 nm spectral range.

ZBLAN fluoride glass is a very efficient matrix for rare earth dopants (Er, Yb, Pr, Nd, Tm, Ho, Dy, Ce, Sm, Eu, Gd).
